In October 2015, Proton DESIGN presented the new Proton Perdana Limousine in two versions. The version shown in the pictures is the rare one with only 5 units ever built.
One unit was used by Tun Mahathir and personalised by him. It included a Nespresso machine and OZ wheels. It was certainly imposing, especially as it was extended by 810 mm.
A second Perdana Limousine, with similar styling – but was extended by 455 mm – was produced in a small volume and became an official government car for ministers.
Proton also produced a larger batch of Perdanas with a standard wheelbase, also adapted from the 8th generation Honda Accord and using Honda’s 2-litre and 2.4-litre engines. These were available for sale to the public at RM113,888 and RM138,888, respectively.
Will there be a new Perdana from Proton to complement the X90 as the flagship?
