All-New Mitsubishi Triton to be launched in Malaysia this month

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) will start off the final quarter of the year with the launch of an all-new Triton pick-up truck later this month. This is the sixth generation of the model which has become one of the more popular trucks in the market.

5 variants to choose from
Bookings are now accepted at all authorised Mitsubishi Motors dealers throughout Malaysia. Estimated prices range from RM102,000 to RM170,000 with 5 variants available, including a Single Cab version. For a limited time, MMM will be giving a warranty of 5 years and no limit on mileage.

Customers who place their booking for the new Triton via Mitsubishi Online will get an exclusive 60-litre folding storage box worth RM450 as an early bird gift (first 500 customers).

While saving the full description of the new Triton for the launch, MMM has provided some preliminary information about the new model which will be imported from the automaker’s factory in Thailand.

Beast Mode design language
The new truck will have elevated robust styling which adopts the Beast Mode design language. The body dimensions have been increased compared to the previous generation and there is a new mega-frame chassis that provides durability and reliability. The newly-developed suspension promises excellent ride comfort and steering stability.

Two 2.4-litre diesel engines are mentioned. One is a new 2.4-litre unit with 2-stage turbocharging that boosts output to as high as 204 ps/470 Nm. This engine will power the double cab versions while the Triton Single Cab, more for workhorse use, will have a clean and efficient engine with best-in-class output of 184 ps/430 Nm.

The drivetrain for some variants will have the proven Super Select 4WD-II system and the 7 drive modes have been upgraded to further enhance and optimise driving performance.

The new also comes with Active Yaw Control which helps the driver maintain control on slippery roads. The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) helps the driver to be aware of dangers ahead and can help him to avoid them.
