SAIC Motor Malaysia announces MG models and prices

SAIC Motor Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., which is bringing back the MG brand to Malaysia, has announced the line-up of models and estimated pricing. There will be two models and all will have fully electric powertrains.

The models and estimated prices are:

• MG4 Standard from RM104,000
• MG4 Lux from RM129,000
• MG4 Lux Extended Range from RM 149,000
• MG4 XPOWER from RM159,000
• ZS EV from RM129,000

Each of the MG4 versions has a battery pack with a different capacity – from 51 kWh to 77 kWh – and depending on the capacity, the claimed range is from 350 kms to 520 kms. The ZS comes in only one version with a 51.1 kW battery pack that is said to give a range of up to 320 kms.

The MG4 can be recharged with up to 150 kW DC power supply and 10% to 80% recharge is said to take 26 minutes. With AC power, a 10% to 100% recharge can take up to 10 hours for the largest capacity pack.

The MG models will make their first appearance at Pavilion KL on February 29 and during March, authorised dealerships in Melaka, Johor (Muar and Plentong) and Negeri Sembilan (Seremban) will also have the cars on display and bookings will be accepted.
