Edaran Otomobil Nasional – more commonly known as EON – is as old as Proton and celebrates its 40th anniversary. The company was originally established as the sole distributor for Proton cars in Malaysia and handled sales and marketing activities in the domestic market.
Malaysia’s largest multi-brand car dealer
Speaking at the EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024 today which is held in conjunction with the anniversary, the CEO of EON, Akkbar Danial, said: “EON has delivered cars to Malaysians for the past four decades. Over the years, we have evolved from being the exclusive dealer for Proton into what we are today – Malaysia’s largest multi-brand car dealer, all under one roof.”
He also highlighted EON’s focus on digital innovation, with a new end-to-end digital car financing platform which was unveiled at the event. Powered by EON Capital Sdn. Bhd., the company’s car financing arm, the platform enables almost instant approvals for financing application and fund disbursement through partnerships with banks and other relevant parties. “Buying a car has never been easier, faster, and safer,” Encik Akkbar said.
3-day event
The EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024 will be on for 3 days (until Sunday, March 3) from 10 am to 6 pm at the EON Headquarters in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, Selangor. At the event, there are various models (including motorcycles) from different makes on one site for prospective buyers to choose from.
Test-drives are available so visitors can experience the latest models such as the Proton S70 and smart #1 EV. Once they have decided which one they want to own, they can easily apply for financing online. Should all requirements be met, it is even possible that you can drive the new car home the same day.
New S70 to be won
Customers who place orders and apply for new car financing via EON’s new digital car financing platform during the 3-day event stand a chance to win prizes worth RM100,000 as well as the Grand Prize of a new Proton S70.
In addition to that, DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia staff are on hand to guide prospective university students interested in pursuing higher education relating to the automotive and other industries. A Bazaar Raya is also organised as an added attraction in view of the upcoming month of Ramadhan and Hari Raya festive season.
