With new vehicle sales steadily rising and 2024 likely to set a new industry volume record, it’s clear that the appetite for new cars in Malaysia is strong. Furthermore, the push by the government to transition to electric vehicles (EVs) has also generated a lot of interest in zero-emission mobility.
To showcase the latest models and related products, the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) will hold the seventh edition of the Malaysia Autoshow in 2024. The event, to be held from May 22 – 26, will be at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) outside Kuala Lumpur.
MAS 2024 will also expand to nearby IOI City Mall across the highway. Visitors will be able to choose between parking at MAEPS or at IOI City Mall. If they park at the mall, they can use a free shuttle service to MAEPS (tickets will also be available at the Main Concourse).
Four halls covering 40,000 square metres will have displays of the latest models. Additionally, full advantage will be taken of the MAEPS outdoor areas and terrain. Three test-drive routes totalling 18 kms will allow the public to have experiences of various vehicles. For many, it may be their first chance to drive or travel in an EV.
“Building on the achievements of the past, Malaysia Autoshow 2024 is gearing up to be yet another milestone event. I’m happy to report that a large portion of the exhibition space has already been booked by exhibitors,” said Azrul Reza Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of MARii at the official launch today. “We are humbled by the support already shown for Malaysia Autoshow 2024 so far and expect to attract 250,000 visitors.”
He added that the 2023 event saw nearly 200,000 visitors over 4 days. There were 9 new car and motorcycle launches, with over 30 car brands and 50 motorcycle brands and accessories. Potential sales of RM1 billion were estimated to have been achieved during MAS 2023.
Tickets for MAS 2024 will be available from today (December 12) at www.autoshow.my. More information can be found at the website as well as its social media channels.
