START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE was launched as Toyota’s first ever global corporate initiative in 2018, inspired by the automaker’s worldwide partnership with the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee. “When we are free to move, anything is possible” has been the underlying philosophy behind Toyota’s decision to be the first ever mobility partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
Supported by UMW Toyota Motor
In Malaysia, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has also supported the initiative which is aimed at fostering an inclusive and innovative mobility culture. In alignment with START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE, UMWT has been hosting the annual Toyota Outrun, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and enhancing its youthful brand image and leadership in innovative mobility solutions.
Funds for National Cancer Society Malaysia
This year, the third edition of the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun again inspired participants to challenge their limits and also support a meaningful cause which was to raise funds for the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
Over 6,000 participants (including some 200 from overseas) turned up at Dataran Merdeka in the heart of Kuala Lumpur for the competitive races which included a 10-km race open to individuals aged 18 and above.
RM200,000 for the NCSM was raised from the event which left a lasting impression of achievement and unity, inspiring future editions to continue pushing boundaries and fostering positive change.
“We hope that the proceeds from the event will significantly bolster NCSM’s initiatives, including Community Cancer and Health Screening programs, the transformative Jejak Kanser, and Vaccination Drives. Additionally, these funds will ensure daily transportation for patients residing in Children and Adult’s Homes, providing them with essential access to medical care,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT.
“The Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun exemplifies our commitment to Move Your World. Apart from promoting physical activity, it fosters social responsibility and empowers individuals to use mobility for positive change,” he added.
