2024 BMW iX xDrive50 Sport/iX M60 get improved charging capability

BMW Malaysia has introduced new charging technology for the 2024 BMW iX xDrive50 Sport and the BMW iX M60. AC Charging Professional is now provided as a standard feature which enhances the SAVs’ charging capabilities.

With AC Charging Professional, there can be a substantial decrease in charging times using AC power supply at home Wallboxes or at public charging stations (with 22 kW AC supply). According to the company, the charging times of both models can be under 5.5 hours to fully recharge a battery pack from empty to 100%.

Both fully electric iX models will continue to have high-power charging capability of up to 195 kW, which enables recharging from 0% to 80% charge within 35 minutes. Using an 11 kW AC Wallbox Charger will require 11 hours to fully recharge an empty battery pack.

Over the past year, BMW Malaysia has been collaborating with various power providers to provide BMW iX owners with access to charging facilities nationwide. Currently, there are over 1,700 points available to owners.

Besides the enhanced charging capabilities, the iX xDrive50 Sport also has the adaptive dual-axle suspension as standard. This air suspension has automatic level control to keep the ride height at its optimum for comfort as well as agility and stability.

Powertrain specifications are unchanged. The iX xDrive50 Sport having an output of up to 385 kW/765 Nm (with Launch Control in use) and a range of up to 630 kms. The iX M60has an optimised dual-motor configuration which generates 455 kW and up to 1,100 Nm when using Launch Control. The range is claimed to be up to 561 kms.

Both models have BMW Iconic Sounds Electric as standard, a feature which generates various ‘engine sounds’ that are matched with the dynamic behaviour od the vehicle. This can give drivers a stronger connection with the vehicle and an immersive experience as they drive the iX.

For 2024, the exterior colour options for the two iX models are Alpine White, Mineral White Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Sophisto Grey Metallic with Brilliant Effect, Phytonic Blue Metallic, Oxide Grey Metallic and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic. With an additional charge of RM6,200, customers can also get Aventurine Red Metallic or Individual Storm Bay Metallic.

Colour offerings for the interior upholstery include the Interior Design Atelier in Mocha or Black, while the option of the Interior Design Suite in Amido or Castanea will incur an additional charge of RM17,300.

Retail pricing (excluding insurance) for the iX xDrive50 Sport is RM465,800 while the iX M60 is RM579,800. To include the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive which consists of 5-Year Extended Warranty and Service Package will add another RM33,200 to the price.
