Just 8 months after commencing local assembly operations at Inokom Corporation, Chery Auto Malaysia has rolled out its 10,000th unit. The milestone vehicle was a Tiggo 7 PRO, one of the three SUV models currently assembled at the plant in Kulim, Kedah.
Besides the Tiggo 7 PRO, which began deliveries to customers this month, the plant also assembles the Tiggo 8 PRO and OMODA 5. Chery Auto Malaysia has also confirmed that the fully electric OMODA E5 will be assembled locally as well.
With the increasing demand, thanks to favourable market reception, Inokom has added a second assembly line to boost output and increase production efficiency at the plant.
“The accomplishment achieved within just 8 months of commencing operations at Inokom’s state-of-the-art 200-acre facility underscores Chery Auto Malaysia’s commitment to growth and excellence in the local automotive industry,” said Leo Chen, President of Chery Auto Malaysia.
Mr. Chen said the collaboration with Inokom, established in May 2023, has been an exhilarating journey and he hopes the partnership remains strong. He added that Chery Auto Malaysia is committed to maintaining strict quality assurance. “Our focus has always been on delivering safe, reliable products to our customers,” he said at the roll-out of the 10,000th unit and also the start-up of the additional assembly line.
